A reveal on the iconic pair of loafers from Gucci: the Gucci Jordaan loafers with bees and stars. I have wanted these loafers since forever ago and now the stars are finally aligned. It’s here and it stole my heart! 🙂
I have been going back and forth with the Gucci Jordaan. I love how they look and I totally see myself wearing it for years to come. But, I couldn’t pull the trigger because it felt a bit crazy to spend 595€ on basic black loafers. Firstly, there are a lot of similar dupes out there which starts at a quarter of the price. Second of all, most reviews say that the Gucci Jordaan aren’t super long-wearing. Most reviews mention the thing with the creasing, the marked soles, loss of shape, etc., so it felt really hard to shell out that kind of money.
Fast forward to the end of February (around my birthday), I saw that they had the Gucci Jordaan with the embroidered bees and stars. I. Lost. It. I absolutely loved the design and I was super sure that this is the loafer for me. Luckily, not-so-luckily, my boyfriend gave me the Dyson Airwrap for my birthday which, unfortunately, did not work out for me (my review on the Airwrap here). Since we ended up returning the Airwrap my boyfriend was super keen on paying a part of the price of the loafers of my dream.
Some mod shots 🙂
I truly love these shoes. They’re so fun but basic, and super duper comfortable. I can wear them to work and I can wear them off-duty. The bees and stars are just so fun and I’m super glad that I have these. I have to admit that the loafers feel quite fragile so I do get a bit nervous, but I guess they are shoes after all – I just need to try my best to not intentionally destroy them.
I’m sure most of you already know, but the soles of the Gucci Loafers are super delicate. The above marks came from me just walking around my house for 15 minutes. I’ve heard that it’s worth getting your loafers re-soled asap, I’ll try to get mine done soon.
In short, I love these shoes. I think this will be quite a delicate pair of loafers, but I went in knowing this and I’m fully prepared for all the wear that is to come. Maybe in half a year, or a year, I’ll do an update on these loafers. Please let me know if that’d be something you’ll be interested in.
Thanks for joining me in this reveal! 🙂
