I don’t know about you, but I’ve been in a rather weird spell lately when it comes to shopping for clothes. I’ve been feeling less and less inspired with the usual brands I see in real life or on my timeline. The same goes for my online habits. I can’t bring myself to really spend the time looking at the usual stores or online retailers that I usually visit. Call it uninspired, I don’t know. But, as a result, I’ve been trying to push myself to branch out and give a bunch of different European clothing brands a try. I know that there are tons of beautiful brands worldwide, but I live in the Netherlands myself and focusing locally made more sense.
I’m so happy to have partnered with The Founded for this post. For those of you don’t know, The Founded is an online retailer that focuses on celebrating individuality and self-expression. They created this unique online shopping environment, focused on fashion, community and a personalized experience. It’s truly one of the best places to discover new brands and branch out. I, personally, wasn’t used to the selection of brands they offer, but I am so so pleasantly surprised by the pieces they offer. So many well-made, beautiful, items made out of natural fabrics and the selection is just never-ending. The Founded is quite literally founded for you.

With that being said, here’s a list of a few different European clothing brands I’ve tried & loved:
1. Aligne (link)
Price range: 28€ – 245€ (for leather items)
From: the UK, also available in EU
Typical composition / material: natural fibers e.g. organic cotton & linen, EcoVero™ viscose (lower emission viscose) & recycled polyester
Sizing: True to size – trousers are tall people friendly.
Best for: Contemporary wear & elevated basics
I honestly can’t believe I didn’t discover this brand sooner. Aligne offers so many good contemporary pieces that serves incredibly well as regular basics. I love that it adds to your wardrobe and it’s far from being just another brand creating disposable trends. I’ve wanted items like the ones they’ve offered way before and I can see myself wearing in the future. They are, staples, in my opinion. I bought several items from them now, including their Flick blouse & linen Fanita pants and I am in love. I find them to be very well-made and substantial. The flow and the the cut is really beautiful, but the pants are definitely not for the petites. I don’t care, it’s still a vibe imo.
2. The EDITED (link)
Price range: 20€ – 140€
From: Germany, available throughout EU.
Typical composition: mostly natural fibers with minimal synthetics
Sizing: Runs a little bit large, imo. It’s a nice fit, but I think I should’ve gotten XS instead of Small.
Best for: Fun & unique prints/design and Instagrammable outfits
I’ve seen The Edited on my Instagram before but I somehow forgot about them. I love how different they are amongst all the other European clothing brands and although they’re a German brand, I find them to be very Scandi looking. Their selection is quite wide and I just love the fun little details like how the collars are, the color of the items and the flow. This is a very aesthetically pleasing brand. Very, very pretty.
3. Bruuns Bazaar (link)
Price range: 40€ – 500€
From: Copenhagen
Typical composition / material: natural fibers e.g. organic cotton & linen, EcoVero™ viscose (lower emission viscose) & recycled polyester
Sizing: True to size
Best for: Contemporary workwear and resort wear.
This might be strange but Bruuns Bazaar reminds me so much of Indonesia and I love that about them. Their pieces are very elegant, sophisticated and youthful. It makes for a wonderful workwear and resort wear type of aesthetic. I got myself the Yasmin dress and the details are stunning. It’s extremely well made and thought through. This dress, for instance, was sent over with a mini slip dress attached to it in the exact same shade so it’s not in any way see through. The dress also comes with very well done concealed stitching and I love how detailed it is.
4. ONLY (link)
Price range: 12€ – 100€
From: Brande, Denmark
Typical composition: mix of 100% Natural fibers and part/full synthetic
Sizing: runs a tiny bit large, but overall true to size (I wished I sized down on the dress!)
Best for: simple, no-fuss, basics & denim
I feel like I’ve seen this brand / store before, but I never thought to walk in or give it a chance. I’m so sad I’ve been missing out, the pieces are so surprisingly good! I got the Allie dress and the Lindsay bodysuit which are both soo nice. The Lindsay top is so soft and it looks great with long loose pants. And, the Allie dress is insane. It’s stunning and I feel like the photos speak for itself. Both are 100% cotton and extremely breathable.
Honorable mentions of brands I didn’t try (but I’m sure I’ll also love):
5. envii (link)
Price range: 20€ – 130€
From: Copenhagen, Denmark
Typical composition / material: mostly synthetics e.g. polyester, viscose with a mix of natural fibers
Best for: fun & trendy pieces
6. Last Studios (link)
Price range: 60€ – 130€
From: Portugal & Denmark
Typical composition / material: mostly leather
Best for: leather footwear.
There’s only one thing I can’t stop obsessing over and that is their Nichole mules. They’re 100% leather and very 90s – I’m almost regretting not getting this, but I’m feeling pretty overloaded with the amount of shoes I have. I need to take a break, but I can’t lie, I wish I had gotten them!
6. Villa (link)
Price range: 4.50€ – 180€
From: Denmark
Typical composition / material: mostly synthetics if I’m not mistaken
Best for: simple basics, feminine dresses. I love their sweaters – I think they’re quite simple and wearable.
And, there you have it! <3 I hope you enjoyed this post and I’m excited to hear back from you. I’m thinking of making this ‘list of different European clothing brands’ a series as there’s so much more out there that I’m keen to try. Let me know what you think and also if ended up trying The Founded for yourself.
