Miso Sushi Rotterdam Plaza is a newly opened, “all you can eat” restaurant, with beautiful, aesthetically pleasing decor, and delicious sushi. It is located in the center of Rotterdam (behind the Holland Casino) and it’s definitely not the one to miss.
My boyfriend and I are avid sushi fan. Despite not being a huge eater, we always go to the “all you can eat” sushi places (which in Holland you have quite a few of).
How it usually works, for those who are less familiar:
- These “all you can eat” sushi places charge you a fixed price (usually around €18-19 during lunchtime, 12:00-16:00/17:00, and €27-29 during dinner time 17:00-closing time);
- You will have 5 rounds (and a set duration, usually 2 hours) in which, each round you can order up to 5 food items (per person. In most places you have to finish all of the food before ordering again;
- Following the above, you have to finish all of the food you order. Otherwise, they’ll charge you either €1-2 per the food item which you did not finish;
- Drinks are not included and they’re usually super expensive for its size (e.g 250ml drinks starting from €2.80-4.40). Either choose wisely or just get the 750ml bottles for an extra price.
Miso Sushi Rotterdam is similar to all the other places we’ve been to- but better. We were so in love from the minute we stepped in. Here’s why:
The aesthetic and décor of the place
Honestly, decorations of a place matter. The food can be absolutely perfect but if the place isn’t as nice, the whole experience could be less than perfect.
Miso Sushi Rotterdam literally gave so much effort to make this place look nothing but perfect and Instagrammable.
I really was so impressed. It was just such a beautiful place, I couldn’t stop taking pictures! Neither could the people sitting around us.
Despite the fact that other sushi restaurants (big competitors of Miso) are also well-decorated, there’s just something extra with Miso that we just seem to love. It’s just so cozy there.
The food itself and the service.
I am probably going to sound impatient but, I can be when I am hungry. Anyway, speed adds so many points to an “all you can eat” sushi place. You literally don’t want to wait 20-35 minutes until the next round comes around.
Lucky for us, Miso is super super lightning fast. You order from one of those tablets and it comes literally 3-5 minutes later (max!). Despite the lightning speed, it really doesn’t taste like defrosted/de-refrigerated sushi. It tastes fresh and newly made.
They have, I think, about 100 choices of food. They have Nigiri, Sashimi, lots of different Maki, Salads, Grilled Dishes, Fried Dishes, and Bowls. You can find their lunch menu here and their dinner one here.
Everything tastes so damn good and, I was honestly impressed at how their “spicy” anything, is actually spicy. That took me by surprise and I loved it
We ended up in a food coma (as predicted). But, it was just so delicious that we couldn’t stop. We only called in defeat in the fourth round. Honestly, at one point we even decided to share a red bull cause we literally felt so dead after all of the food.
Location
Miso Sushi Rotterdam Plaza is so centrally located (of course if you live in Rotterdam, or even a neighboring city like Den Haag, Delft, or Barendrecht). It’s right behind Holland Casino, and near the central station and shopping area.
Overall conclusion:
Miso Sushi Rotterdam is similar to all the other places we’ve been to- but better.
Perfect place for food after a quick run around Rotterdam shopping area.
Super nice for dates and/or with family and friends.
In total, we paid EUR 52.40. Although lunch was only EUR 19, we had a large bottle of water, red bull, extra fruit salad, and orange juice. It’s definitely not bad for what we had.
