George Williams Park Avenue (W.P.A.) is not just another bistro in Amsterdam, it is the Bistro in Amsterdam. This hotspot is for those looking for an uptown eatery with a Paris/New York touch.
Outdoor area
Almost everyone I know has either been to George W.P.A. or is excited to go one day. Finally, last weekend came around and after god-knows how long, I finally managed to drop by for lunch with my friend and my boyfriend. We went on a Sunday afternoon (around 2 pm) and the place was quite crowded. There were mainly families but there were also groups of friends and people on dates.
Indoor area (this was around 3:30pm but before all the tables were taken, and not too long after the tables were taken again).
Club Salmon (EUR 10) Might be with cream cheese, anyway the sauce with the salmon was delicious. Rating 8/10.
Scrambled eggs w/ salmon (EUR 9) Soft, creamy, eggs with fresh salmon. Rating 8/10.
In the back: Calamares (EUR 7.50). Rating 7/10. and; Homemade fries (EUR 5). Rating 7/10.
Eggs benedict (EUR 9) Poached eggs with ham and hollandaise sauce.
Overall conclusion:
George W.P.A. is definitely worth going, at least once. I would go there for lunch/brunch since their menu is a lot more basic and fairly priced then.
Perfect place for coffees with friends and long chats over something.
Also super nice for dates and/or to go with family and friends.
In total, we paid EUR 53 (including drinks) and that was quite fair.
Ambience 9/10
Food 8/10
Service 8/10
Location Quite central and nearby lots of shops!
Value for money 8/10
