I am so in love with restoration hardware’s (RH) cloud couch. Unfortunately, it’s not directly available for me and I need to rely on cloud couch alternatives here in Europe. Side-note: I do think that you can still contact RH for worldwide shipping, but I honestly can’t imagine how much extra I’d have to pay in customs.
If you’re new to RH’s cloud couch, here’s a photo of this gorgeous couch:
RH’s cloud couch is a modular / sectional couch which is fully customizable. It’s super soft and I would love to have this in my home one day. Taken from Restoration Hardware’s website:
The world’s most comfortable sofa, the Cloud’s modular design nods to the relaxed modernism of the mid-20th century. Designed by Timothy Oulton and built for laidback lounging, our most relaxed silhouette features a low 24″ back and broad arms for sink-in comfort. Easy to customize, three slipcovered cubes available in a choice of three depths allow for endless configuration possibilities to suit your space. It’s a modern marriage of versatility, perfect proportions and massive comfort.
For more information on this beautiful couch, you can check out RH’s website here.
I’m so in love with this couch and I wish so badly that I could get it. Unfortunately, I have to stick to the cloud couch alternatives which are available in Europe. Disclaimer: some of the links below may contain affiliate links. But, I am in no way sponsored to write this article. I only decided to write this article because I struggled a lot in finding the cloud couch alternative for my own newly purchased home.
I hope that this helps you and let’s get started with the list!
1. Andrew Martin’s Truman Large Sectional Sofa in White Linen (UK)
Price: approx. £6,590 // Location: UK
This is one of the closest cloud couch alternatives I found in Europe. It’s absolutely gorgeous and looks incredibly comfortable. They filled this couch with a triple layer of 100% luxe goose feather and down. I think the quality is super similar to restoration hardware’s cloud couch, which is amazing. I believe they ship to other countries in Europe, but you can get in touch with them directly to get a quote.
where you can get it:

2. (NEW) Guido Maria Kretschmer Home&Living Pantin couch (NL & DE but available in most parts of Europe)
Price: currently on sale at 2199€ // Location: Netherlands and Germany, but should be available in most parts of Europe)
I love this couch. It’s so beautiful and it looks super comfortable. The seat depth is incredible at 75-90cm (which is huge!). This couch will leave you lounging for dayssss. I honestly think I would’ve seriously considered buying this couch if I had just seen it in time. The seat depth and the aesthetics of this couch are the top two reasons why I absolutely love this couch.
This couch is customizable in form and in color/fabric. I live for the white cover, but if you’re into something else, you can also pick a bunch of different colors and even request a fabric sample from Otto. I have personally never ordered from Otto myself, but their website seems legit and their services seem appealing! According to their website, they place the couch to where you want it in your house and unpack the goods for you. For an extra 39,95€ they even take apart your old furniture for you! I honestly think that’s super helpful as I’ve dealt with a lot of “ground floor deliveries” which leave you with a lot of heavy lifting through an inconvenient walkway.
where you can get it:
- Otto Netherlands // Germany
3. (NEW) Westwing (Netherlands & all over Europe)
I am a huge fan of Westwing. Their pieces are very aesthetically pleasing and incredibly well-made. I have a couple of items from them which I bought a couple of years ago and they’re still super super gorgeous. They don’t have exact cloud couch alternatives but they definitely have a ton of great options which gives the same vibes and available across Europe. I totally vouch for their quality and honestly, take a look. I fell in love with almost all of their pieces, it’s insane. If you’re interested, I have written an in-depth and extensive review of them here.
Side-note: this section is not sponsored by them but, I do have an active discount code right now specifically for Westwing Collection ( AFF-HANNA15 ). This code is valid until the 23rd of November, 2022 and I highly recommend giving them a try, you won’t regret it! (the link to their collection).
4. Urban Sofa by Ira Ness (Netherlands)
photos by Urban sofa
Price: starting from 795€ // Location: Netherlands // link
This couch looks absolutely gorgeous. Urban Sofa by Ira Ness made a cool post all about the white couch and that’s where I first saw this photo (link). I’m not sure which line this is, but I think this might be the Giorno sofa. I’m still not 100% sure, but I’m planning to visit one of their many retailers soon to check out it out in real life. Until then, I will link the Giorno. This couch looks super cozy and I just want to cuddle on it for days. Urban Sofa by Ira Ness has a huge selection of couches and also fabrics. I think you can customize the design of the couches, down the design, fabric, and even the cushions. I’m super in love and I hope that when I visit one of their stores, I’d be just as in love.
5. (what i bought!!) IKEA Söderhamn (worldwide)
Price: starting from 499€ // Location: Europe and worldwide // link
I am honestly over the moon with the IKEA Soderhamn series. This couch comes so close to RH’s cloud couch and it’s absolutely gorgeous. It is soo comfortable and deep and I literally melt into the couch. I want to sleep there, no exaggeration. I just really, really, love it and I can’t say it enough. I’ve only had it for less than a day (since we’ve been busy with the renovations), but it’s been an amazing less than 24 hours. The installation was pretty simple but connecting all the pieces were a bit trickier. I’m super lucky that my boyfriend is handy, otherwise I wouldn’t have figured it out on my own.
If the aesthetics alone is not enough, all the covers are removable and washable. Plus, IKEA sells the covers separately so in case you ever need a spare cover, they got you covered. Alternatively, really cool stores like Bemz (link) sells super cool covers for IKEA couches. If that’s not enough, IKEA gives a warranty of 10 years for these couches. Lastly, you can always use their planner to design the couch however you like (link).
I will update this with a proper review when more time has passed (hopefully with better photos).
I’m just so excited, this couch is perfect. I absolutely love it and it’s honestly the best affordable cloud couch dupe or alternative which you can get in the Netherlands and the whole of Europe (or even worldwide!).
Alternative: Grönlid (worldwide)
Price: starting from 659€ // Location: Europe // link
This isn’t the closest match, but it definitely gives me the cozy cloud couch vibes at an affordable price. The white cushions look crazy comfortable and I love how functional this sectional is. You have the option of turning the 2-seater into a pull-out bed. And, you can open up the ottoman and the little footstool(?) to use it as a storage space. FYI IKEA also has a planner tool for this couch so you can customize the couch design to your liking (link).
It’s all good for now, but of course there are some negative reviews. I heard that it’s really hard to assemble this couch and it loses its filling relatively fast. I don’t know if this is the case for all the couches, but it’s good to note in advance.
Update: I strongly considered this one but decided against it after I discovered the Söderhamn. I went to see the Gronlid couch in the IKEA store and I wasn’t too into it. It’s super cozy, but it’s quite bulky and the seat depth wasn’t super deep like how I wanted it. It’s still a great couch, but it just wasn’t it for me!
6. Furninova AB (Sweden, but available in Belgium and NL)
View this post on Instagram
I’m a huge fan of Matilda Djerf and I just recently learnt that her dreamy couch is from Furninova AB (link). This looks super deep and comfortable and I just love it. I think Matilda has the Sake LC model (link), but I’m not 100% sure. The Starlight (link) and Samba Double Bay (link) also looks super nice and comfortable.
I’m not sure if this is readily available if you’re not living in Stockholm. But, I did find some resellers which sells Furninova couches and I’ve included them below. (Note that I’ll also update it from time to time in case I find more :))
7. (NEW) Karwei Bank Gayle (Netherlands)
Price: 899€ // Location: Netherlands // link
I’m not super sure about Karwei’s quality, but I think this is a pretty decent couch for the price! It gives me the cloud couch vibes cause of the relaxed pillows and it’s honestly not a bad couch for the price! This looks super comfortable and I think it’s worth trying (especially since they have a 30 day thinking period. it’s not convenient/ideal, but you can always return it).
8. (NEW) Eijerkamp ZUIVER SENSE 3-ZITSBANK (Netherlands)
Price: 1995€ // Location: Netherlands // link
This is a bit of a fluffier alternative to the cloud couch look. But, I think it still gives off a similar vibe and it looks super comfortable. I honestly haven’t heard of this store, but they seem quite legit and they also offer a 2 year warranty.
9. Heaven sofa (Netherlands)
Price: around 900€ // Location: Netherlands
I come across the “heaven” couch so often in my search for cloud couch alternatives in Europe. It looks super cozy and I actually think it’s quite functional. The couch is made from linen and the covers are removable. I’m totally considering getting it but I’m not 100% convinced yet.
where you can get it:
10. home24’s XXL couches // XXL banken (Netherlands)
home24 has tons of “XXL” couch options, but I feel like there’s just too much options. Some of the models which I quite like and gives off a bit of the comfy cloud couch vibes are:
- Hoekbank Dixwell I – €1.399,99 (link)
- XXL-bank Winwick – € 1.049,99 (link)
- Hoekbank Hudson IX – € 2.099,99 (link)
FYI home24 is having a “dealcember” right now and you can get 10% off using the code DEALS-10-NL.
Side-note: I have a page on my blog dedicated to Sales Updates. On this page I list all the stores that are currently participating in a (private) sales program and the relevant discount codes. Definitely have a look there before you make a purchase in case I have a discount code for you <3
Other honorable mentions:
– Flexform’s couches / sectionals (Italy)
Honestly, the couches of Flexform is on a whole another level. I don’t think it’s fair to call their couches an alternative to the cloud couch as their designs are original and different on its own. Some of my favorites include the groundpiece, soft dream, and beauty. They’re quite expensive and I think they start from at least 9,000€. But, I might be mistaken. You can check them out here. They’re an Italian brand but they have resellers all over Europe. For secondhand pieces, you can check out Pamono here.
– Masoni Online’s Time Sofa by Spagnol (Italy)
Price: starting from €1174.86 // Location: Italy // link
I think this is one of the more “modern” cloud couch alternatives you can find in Europe. It looks a bit more sturdy, if that’s the right word to describe it. But, I do get RH Cloud Couch vibes from it. You can fully customize it and you can opt for a white cover as well, it’s in one of their fabric categories. Definitely a cool, modern, alternative to RH’s cloud couch.
– (NEW) Wendelbo Maho off white sofa (Belgium)
Price: €6403// Location: Belgium // link
Oh my god, I think I could melt on this couch. This looks super comfortable and it’s such a nice alternative to the cloud couch. It’s a low lounging sofa and I think this could be the perfect couch to just spend your entire Sunday (or evenings) on, chilling, doing absolutely nothing.
And, there you have it. I hope you enjoyed this article and as always, I’ll actively update this when I find more alternatives. Please let me know what you think down below in the comments section. I would also love to hear if you have any other recommendations.
