Have you ever wondered why your socks slip down into your shoes even though on its own it fits perfectly? Or, why are your socks sagging so quickly even if you’re just making a few short steps?
I had that too. If you’ve read my post on my beloved Dr. Martens Holly Butteroo shoes, you’d know that I need anti-slip socks. I have a huge collection of socks but they all seem to fail when it comes to my slightly oversized Dr. Martens shoes. Everything slips into my shoes and I got so sick of it.
Instead of returning the shoes, I found a workaround that works perfectly and that is socks with great elastic bands. The key here is the elasticity of the bands and that’s what keeps your socks from slipping down or sagging or becoming loose no matter which shoes you’re wearing.
This is probably oversimplifying everything, but I swear it works. I’ve tried a bunch of different socks but the best of the best are the three down below.

1. Nike (link or via asos)
Side-note: I think any other sport socks or running socks would be just as great. Running socks especially are designed to not slip and stay put in your shoes as you run. Sadly, I think Nike is the only brand that has such a cool vibe to it.
I honestly live on these socks. They’re crazy cushioned and so cool. I love the vibe that I get from just wearing these socks. 1000000% recommend.
2. Happy socks (link or via asos)
I’m honestly blown by these socks. I always thought they’re meant more as a fun playful sock rather than a fully functional sock. But, they’re legitimately good. I put on these socks and even in my ‘one size larger’ Dr. Martens it does not slip. I don’t understand it! It’s so good. No matter how far I walk, it just stays put. I absolutely love it.
I got some for myself and my boyfriend and we both adore it. It’s super cute and comfortable. The only downside is that it’s a bit thinner as compared to the Nike socks, but it’s nothing too bad. The non-slipping power and cute design makes up for it big time.
3. Uniqlo (link)
stole this from my boyfriend’s closet, but I can’t look back. I love these socks. They’re so thick and such a great cushion for a long day of walking (or just lounging around at home). Best part is that Uniqlo offers a ‘Heattech’ range and it’s absolutely the warmest ‘regular’ socks you can have.
And there is my list. I hope you enjoyed it. I’m down to try more socks and hear other recommendations, but I’m honestly so blown by these socks it’ll be hard to compete.
